V. Warnings
- Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) and reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS): There have been case reports of PRES and RCVS occurring after using medications containing pseudoephedrine. This risk is increased in users with severe or poorly controlled hypertension, severe or long-term kidney disease, or kidney failure. If the following symptoms occur while using medications containing pseudoephedrine: sudden onset of severe headache or thunderstorm headache, nausea, vomiting, loss of consciousness, seizures, and/or vision problems, discontinue use immediately and seek medical help. Most users who experience PRES or RCVS recover after discontinuing the medication and receiving appropriate treatment.
