Tzu Chi Families Treasure Goodness — Boundless Aspiration to Spread the Dharma and Benefit Living Beings
DaAi News reported on July 1 that Chung Mei Pharmaceutical Group and Tzu Chi are jointly advancing a “Health Equity Program,” combining corporate resources with Tzu Chi’s long-established community service network to extend healthcare from hospitals into communities — giving more elderly individuals and family caregivers access to accurate, practical health knowledge in their daily lives.
The report noted that Chung Mei Pharmaceutical Group signed a memorandum of cooperation with Tzu Chi on June 17 to jointly advance the Health Equity Program. Lin Yi-lin (林宜琳), Brand Director of Chung Mei Pharmaceutical Group, reported to Dharma Master Cheng Yen at a morning gathering: “The Ministry of Health and Welfare has a direction, Tzu Chi has the best platform, Chung Mei has the resources, and the pharmacists have the expertise. We’re combining four platforms to go into the community together.” Lin Ming-chuan (林命權), Chairman of Chung Mei Pharmaceutical Group, added: “We expect to complete all 69 health lectures within this year.”
Li A-li (李阿利), President of Chung Mei Pharmaceutical Group, said: “The next generation has also taken up the torch. I feel that their ability to learn and contribute within Tzu Chi is, I believe, the greatest filial devotion I as a disciple can offer to the Master.”
Through this cross-sector collaboration, professional pharmacists are entering communities to help the public build correct medication practices and strengthen chronic disease care and self-health management. Dharma Master Cheng Yen encouraged the younger generation at Chung Mei Pharmaceutical to take up this mission and use their goodwill to create positive influence.
